LECTURE: "LENGUAS EN CONTACTO"

On Friday 20th March, a former Spanish Language and Literature teacher of Institut Jaume Callís in ic, came to our school to give as a lecture about Languages in Contact. Although retired, she is still active, publishing books on Children Literature, giving lectures, and teaching at university. She has books published on the matter of Languages in Contact.

She started by explaining what a language is, she compare a language to a human being, alive...

She went on explaining about how our mother tongue influence the way we see the world and also shapes the way we speak/write foreign languages.

The second part was devoted to the history of the influences of English in Catalan and Spanish

The students also interviewed her.

Here you can find a video recording of the first part of her lecture. And an audio file with the full lecture.
